About Me
Embarking on life's adventure with a sprinkle of humour and a dash of daring – meet the wanderer behind JimJamsJourney, where every page turns into a laugh-filled exploration.
My Past
Once charted the financial seas of the UK, stumbled into the tech realm, and, with the help of some truly exceptional minds, built and sold a technology company (Intelliflo Ltd) into one of the leading financial services tech companies – all with the grace of a cat on a hot tin roof. Semi-retirement led me to the sunny Cayman Islands, where I learned to sail, but the allure of trading sharks for bears in Canada was too hard to resist. My journey has been like a rollercoaster – ups and downs and a few loop-de-loops for good measure. With seven lives lived (and a flirtation with cancer), I've come to realise that variety truly is the spice of life. Even death is just another part of the mix 😂. So, enjoy this site and my humour (dark or not), and always remember: it could be worse – you could be that person you detest... 😉. Here's to another two lives!
My Hobbies
Where to begin: I love photography and videography and editing what I have captured. This compliments my love of travel and, when combined with my humour, creates things that I hope make people smile.
I love the outdoors, mountain biking, motorbikes, and almost anything with wheels or an engine. For calmer moments, I love sailing. While in the Cayman Islands, I took my Yacht Masters course and enjoyed sailing my 54-foot catamaran, Which I affectionately named CoatSeaCat after my surname, Coats, love of cats, and the yacht being a catamaran style, or did I just run out of talent… Sailing it from Fort Lauderdale to and around the Bahamas before heading to Cuba and the Cayman Islands was a true life event.
Ducati xDiavel
It was a work of art, especially. It went like a rocket and shook like one. After forty minutes of riding, when I stopped, I thought I had MS, Parkinson's, that back wheel and Torets all thrown into one. I thought my age was catching up with me.
CoatSeaCat
For a newbie, she was a bit of a handful, a clear sign I was mad or adventurous, probably a bit of both. Let's see what is next.
